El Cajon ACES is a community foundation whose mission is to expand the capabilities of the El Cajon Animal Shelter in order to assist with animal adoptions and education of the public in the proper care and treatment of animals.
Donations may be used in the following ways:
I. Medical Treatment- Chloe's Fund
Currently: Emergency Medical treatment for medically-treatable animals beyond basic medical assistance. This may include surgery and medication costs that the shelter could not normally afford.
Future plans: A spay and neuter program!
Currently: Printing of materials to give to new adoptive families, children and the community in a wide variety of animal care issues, humane treatment, behavior issues, etc.
Future plans:
1. Obedience and Behavior Classes for Dogs and Pet Owners
2. Off-Site Adoption Program
3. Feral Cat Over-Population Reduction Program
4. Humane Educator to visit schools and community groups
5. Pet Socialization Supplies
7. Senior Citizen Adoption Program (purchase assistance)
8. Internship Program for veterinarian students
Future plans:
1. Basic Owner Supplies (i.e. leash, crates, food, etc.)
2. Promotional items for the Animal Shelter (i.e. t-shirts, ball caps, bookmarks, coloring books)
3. Purchase of diagnostic (e.g. x-ray machine, scale) and surgical equipment for the Animal Clinic. Naming opportunities are available.
The ACES Foundation hosts exciting special events throughout the year to raise funds to benefit the El Cajon Animal Shelter. Mark your calendar and plan to attend each one and join in on the fun!
